Damn, my hosting server was down for 2 days. Only now I can update this exciting post.

The iPhone 4 has been anticipated by many people. This is proven to be true judging by the long queues at many Apple Stores on Thursday June 24. Those who didn’t manage to pre-order earlier had to pray for their luck as there weren’t many extra units available for walk-in customers.
Reported waits of up to eight hours in line at many places to buy the iPhone 4 Thursday indicated that first day sales were going to be good. Analysts have estimated that Apple should be selling more than 1 million units on the first day itself.

Since I’m in New York, I took this opportunity to visit Apple flagship store at 5th Avenue to take a first hand look at what’s iPhone mania is all about. By the time I was there on Thursday evening, the queue was still quite long. Even for those not buying iPhone 4 needs to queue up at separate line to get into the store. I had to wait outside for 15 minutes before Apple staff let me in. Apple staffs did a good job at controlling the crowd into the store so that those inside can still shop comfortable at other Apple products.

After walking down the glass staircase to the basement where the actual store is located, I rushed to the iPhone 4 demo corner to experience the iPhone 4 myself. I’m definitely impressed with the the smartphone after playing with it for some time. The phone built is of premium quality. The screen looks brilliant. The touchscreen response is fast as expected. Overall, I would think this is the phone of the year.

It was a great day for me as I managed to walk away with an iPhone 4. Am I the first Malaysian to own the iPhone 4? I definitely hope so! Anyway, I will be posting a review of the iPhone 4 soon. So look forward to it.
